Spring tides and strong winds are forecast to bring high levels and large waves along the Yorkshire coast on Sunday 7th November. The area most at risk are properties along New Quay Road, Langbourne Road and Whitby Harbour. Some of the highest tides of the year are expected over this weekend, and the forecast shows that, due to the local weather conditions, Sunday morning’s tide will be particularly high. The highest levels are expected on Sunday morning around 04:15-05:45 and Sunday evening, between 18:30-20:30. Our operational staff will be out inspecting our flood defences before and after the peak tides, and we are liaising closely with our partners.
